We start in Sutomore because it is at the very centre of the Montenegro coast, because it is our favourite town, and because we live here. There is a rocky beach surrounded by pine forest, sweet little cafes and amazing seafood bars on the old promenade, mountain trails all around, and our favourite picnic spot on the Tabia ruins to watch the sunset from.

By the end of September, summer heat subsides. The light becomes way softer and it's no longer exhausting to be out and about in the afternoon hours. September is very dry somewhat into October, but from mid-October there is many days when the sunshine is briefly interrupted by a drizzle, then it goes back to sunshine in an hour or two, but the air stays refreshed for the rest of the day.
